What to Know:

  1. The MHS Spring Musical, Legally Blonde will be showing Fri., Mar. 6 at 7:30 pm; Sat., Mar. 7 at 7:30 pm; Sun., Mar. 8 at 2 pm. Click here for tickets. 
  2. AFS Day is Wed., Mar. 4. AFS Students will be walking around with students throughout their bells. Below is a list of students and where they are from:

  4. Construction Updates:
      • Upper Floor Air Handler being worked on to put in one of the three “rooms” sticking up out of the roof (closest one to junior lot)
      • During the first week of March, Jesse Busch, head of construction, will be welding in the girls locker room to prep for the “chiller lift” 
  5. The SOSMont Volleyball Tournament is on Tues., Mar. 3rd. Those who signed up should check Blackboard to see which team they are on. 
  6. A child psychologist came to talk to Mrs. Leatherwood’s AP Psychology class about childhood trauma and its effect on child development on Fri., Feb. 28.
  7. After a successful season, the Boys Basketball Team lost to Taft in the 3rd round of the CHL Tournament, 76-52.
  8. CCPC News:
      • Students are switching from Naviance to Scoir (college and career planning tools) and students have until May 1st to move their information
      • The ACT for juniors is March 10th
      • Community service opportunity to help members of Mariemont’s Marielders with technology (see Mrs. Leszczuk for more details).  
      • There is a Cincinnati film camp, June 8th-19th (click here for more info)
      • Juniors can be nominated for the High Point West University scholarship and/or the Furman scholarship; can earn up to $10,000 in for High Point West U.’s and $20,000 for Furman’s (contact Mrs. Leszczuk for more info and to go nominated)
      • Spring college fair with be March 31 from 6:30-8 pm at the Cintas center at Xavier University
      • Purdue University is having a Women in Engineering Program on April 20 for juniors and seniors (click here for more info) 
      • College Essay Lesson on March 11th for Juniors during English class
